Dear friends and supporters,
I'm gearing up for another incredible challenge, and I'm reaching out to you once again for your generous support. Last year, many of you joined me on my 51.7-mile walk along the Virginia Capital Trail from Jamestown to Richmond. It was an experience filled with beauty and meaning, but this year, I want to up the ante and make an even greater impact.
I'm embarking on this journey not just for the thrill of it, but to raise crucial funds for The Hawthorne Cancer Foundation's transportation fund. This fund plays a vital role in helping cancer patients get to and from their appointments and treatments. Whether it's providing gas cards or transportation services, your support will significantly ease the heavy burden that many patients face when trying to access essential care.
Cancer patients deal with a challenge that extends far beyond their diagnosis – the logistical challenge of getting to treatment. Having been a cancer patient myself, I understand this struggle all too well. When I lost my leg to cancer, I had to learn to do everything differently. The simplest tasks became daunting, but with time and determination, I adapted. My life became a constant journey of problem-solving, managing frustration, and overcoming physical challenges.
This year's journey may be even more challenging, but I'm committed to pushing the limits. Whether I tackle the 51.7 miles with one leg, no legs, or just my hands – together, we will make a difference. Your support fuels my determination to ease the burden on local cancer patients, allowing them to focus on their health without worrying about how they'll get to their appointments.
So, please follow along as my journey continues. Come hell or high water, I am doing it again! Your support means the world to me, and I'm incredibly grateful for your generosity.
Here's how you can take action and support this cause:
Donate: Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference. Your donation will go directly to The Hawthorne Cancer Foundation's transportation fund, ensuring that cancer patients can access the care they need.
Spread the Word: Share this blog post and my journey with your friends, family, and social networks. The more people who know about this cause, the more support we can garner.
Connect: If you have ideas, resources, or connections that can help us in our mission, please reach out. Collaboration and partnerships are essential in achieving our goals.
Thank you in advance for your support and for being a part of this meaningful journey. Together, we can make a significant impact on the lives of cancer patients in our community.
With heartfelt gratitude,
