About the Event
CULTIVATING SELF-COMPASSION AFTER A CANCER DIAGNOSIS
Research has shown that self-compassion leads to healthy habits, and lowers anxiety and depression. Self-compassion involves generating kindness toward ourselves and learning to be present with greater ease when facing life’s challenges. Most of us are hard on ourselves, continually judge, and compare ourselves; however, we often feel compassion when someone we are close to is struggling. What would it be like to receive the same caring attention from yourself when you need it the most?
This FREE 4-WEEK WORKSHOP is intended for people whose lives have been affected by cancer. Through discussion, meditation, and experiential exercises, participants will gain practical skills to help bring self-compassion into their daily lives. Applying these tools will cultivate an ability to respond in a kinder, more compassionate way whenever one is experiencing difficult emotions.
